The Hundred Acre Wood – Santa Ynez, CA, USA

“The Hundred Acre Wood (also spelled as 100 Aker Wood, Hundred-Acre Wood, and 100 Acre Wood; also known as simply “The Wood”) is the fictional land inhabited by Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends in the Winnie-the-Pooh series of children’s stories by author A.A. Milne. The wood is visited regularly by the young boy Christopher Robin, who accompanies (or imagines through make-believe) Pooh and company on their many adventures. (One hundred acres is 0.4 square kilometres or 0.15625 square miles.)” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hundred_Acre_Wood

I, however, grew up near my very own “100 Aker Wood” complete with a pond and plenty of trails. As I have grown up my imagination still takes me to the wonderful childhood places I once believed to be real. The best part about this secret spot is that it is real and I have now made so many wonderful memories there well into my adult life.

Here are a few shots from a recent trip (mid April 2010): Enjoy!
