The Hundred Acre Wood – Santa Ynez, CA, USA

“The Hundred Acre Wood (also spelled as 100 Aker Wood, Hundred-Acre Wood, and 100 Acre Wood; also known as simply “The Wood”) is the fictional land inhabited by Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends in the Winnie-the-Pooh series of children’s stories by author A.A. Milne. The wood is visited regularly by the young boy Christopher Robin, who accompanies (or imagines through make-believe) Pooh and company on their many adventures. (One hundred acres is 0.4 square kilometres or 0.15625 square miles.)”

I, however, grew up near my very own “100 Aker Wood” complete with a pond and plenty of trails. As I have grown up my imagination still takes me to the wonderful childhood places I once believed to be real. The best part about this secret spot is that it is real and I have now made so many wonderful memories there well into my adult life.

Here are a few shots from a recent trip (mid April 2010): Enjoy!
