Santa Ynez Valley ~ Wine Country ~ Flying low in a Piper PA-18 Super Cub

This past week I was very fortunate to go flying with a dear old friend of mine over the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley in a Piper PA-18 Super Cub. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piper_PA-18

Let me tell you that flying over God’s wine country as low as 500 feet gives you an amazing birds eye view of how majestic the Santa Barbara county truly is.

I took about 900 shots with my Nikon D90 with both a wide angel and a telephoto lens. I have only put up 4 shots thus far, more will come soon.

We flew over Knapp’s Castle: my favorite

As well as the entire Santa Ynez Wine country: Couple of vineyards/winieries we flew over during our excursion:

Sea Smoke, Rusack, Firestone Vineyard, Qupé,  Arthur Earl, Bridlewood Estate Winery, Carhartt Vineyard, Core, Verdad, Margerum Wine Company, Toretti’s Family Vineyard,  D’Alfonso – Curran
