Knapp’s Castle is Changing

Knapp’s Castle is a landmark ruined mansion in the Santa Ynez Mountains near Santa Barbara, California. Located near East Camino Cielo in the Los Padres National Forest, the ridge-top site has a panoramic view of Lake Cachuma and the Santa Ynez Valley. It is a popular destination for hikers and photographers.

I have been frequenting Knapp’s since I was a young boy and it has fallen under construction.  It’s a strange feeling seeing something that has been apart of your childhood change.

It looks as though they are making positive changes to the castle, but still overall a weird feeling seeing these beautiful ruins being torn down and replaced with new rocks.
